Vision

Our vision is to serve as a catalyst for gender equity and empowerment of women, especially in northern Kerala. Being the only teaching Department of Women’s Studies in the state, the Department strives to play a leadership role in the emerging field of Women’s/Gender Studies.

Mission

To spread the awareness on human rights of all genders in the society and gender sensitise the masses through teaching, research, training and outreach activities. We hope to develop a generation of development scholars committed to gender empowerment. The Department will serve as a nodal centre for academic excellence through interdisciplinary research, innovative pedagogies, advocacy and activism.
